Besides iron ore, Brazil produces large quantities of bauxite for the aluminum industry. The richest deposits to date have been located on the Trombetas River in the lower Amazon region and in the jungles of the wild state of Pará in north-central Brazil. Other important minerals are manganese, nickel, tin, tungsten and quartz crystals. There is evidence, too, that uranium may be an important resource for the future, chiefly of nuclear energy.....
